I moved to Florida and lived there for three years. Overall, I’m happy I made that choice. However, not everyone I met who moved there felt the same way. Here are 10 honest things you’ll love (and hate) about living in Florida. I’ll share with you to help you decide.

Florida is known for its sunshine. Winters are mild, and you can enjoy outdoor life almost every day. No more freezing mornings or heavy snow. You can go to the beach, walk outside, or enjoy nature without worrying about cold weather.
But… You May Hate:
Summer heat can be intense. It feels hot and sticky because of humidity. Even a short walk outside can make you sweat quickly.
2. 🏖️ You’ll Love: Beautiful Beaches Everywhere
Florida has 7 of the best beaches in the United States. Places like Miami and Clearwater offer soft sand and clear water. You can relax, swim, or watch sunsets almost anytime.
3. Relaxed Lifestyle
Life in Florida often feels slower and more relaxed. People enjoy spending time outdoors, wearing casual clothes, and living simple daily routines. You’ll see people going to the beach, walking in parks, or just enjoying the sunshine.
But… May You Not Love:
If you enjoy busy city life with constant action, Florida may feel too quiet in some areas. Some towns have limited nightlife, fewer job options, and less entertainment, which can feel boring for people who like a fast and exciting lifestyle.

5. Other Taxes Ratio Is High
Even though there’s no income tax, other costs can be higher. Sales taxes, property taxes, and especially home insurance can be expensive. In some areas, insurance costs are very high because of storms and hurricanes.
